The Fruits of Your Labor is a board book that explores the size progression of a baby in the womb in relation to a fruit or vegetable.

Beginning at the size of a sweet pea and growing to the size of watermelon, each week of pregnancy is documented as a watercolor painting next to a fun, and also true fact about that specific fruit or vegetable, mixed with a playful quip. With its endearing illustrations and droll humor, The Fruits of Your Labor makes a perfect gift for expectant families.

The Fruits of Your Labor Andrew Tobin 9781576879078 Books Reviews

  • A fun read for kids and the adults in their life who will enjoy the clever descriptions that accompany
each beautifully drawn picture of a fruit that corresponds to a developing baby.
  • I stumbled upon this book rather randomly when looking for board books for my 2-year-old and though it looked very cute - I’m not disappointed!

This book is wonderful for her to follow along as we talk about the size of the “tiny baby” growing in mommy. I am definitely putting this on my list of great expectant-parent gifts.

    Highly recommend!
  • Andrew Tobin is a genius!

This book is the perfect gift for someone who is expecting but almost an even better gift for a youngster who is getting a new brother/sister! The board book allows for maximum durability and the anecdotes are both amusing and educational.

Could not recommend this book any higher. It is superb!

    Well Done Mr. Tobin!
  • Great gift for friends and family! The watercolors are gorgeous. My kids love the illustrations.
  • Had the most fun reading this with my young niece, we laughed at the different stages. Really a cute moment until she asked how she was created. Great part of being an uncle is letting my sister explain that part!
  • cute & funny even if you’re not pregnant
  • Love this book! The illustrations are beautiful. It is great for kids and makes a great gift to expecting parents.
  • Beautiful, fun illustrations and humorous text. A book expectant parents can read to children to explain the baby's size month by month.
